Residents can sort their recyclable household materials at any of the blue bin recycling stations located across the city. All commercial contractors and businesses can deposit recycling materials from a commercial premise at the Solid Waste Facility. You can check to see what items are recyclable with the app below.
Where to Recycle Items for Free in Yellowknife:
- Blue Bin Stations: Recycle your household cardboard, mixed paper, newspaper, glass, tin cans, and hard plastics.
- Beverage Container Program: Get cash back for bringing bottles, cans, tetra pack cartons, and milk jugs to the Bottle Shop Recycling Depot.
- Electronics Recycling Program: Over 500 electronic devices are accepted free of charge at the Bottle Shop Recycling Depot.
