To book a trip with YKFlex, call (867) 873-8901 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays.
Trip reservations can be made by either the registered YKFlex user or someone on the user’s behalf. Trips can be booked 7 days in advance of travel, up to 3:00 p.m. the day before the travel date.
To cancel a scheduled trip, please call the YKFlex scheduling line at (867) 873-8901.
Trips must be cancelled by 3:00 p.m. the day before a scheduled trip, or they will be marked as a late cancellation. Cancellations made within 2 hours of a scheduled pick-up will be marked as a no-show. YKFlex may impose sanctions for consistent late cancellations or no-shows.
Please cancel unwanted trips as far in advance as possible to allow the schedule to be changed for other passengers.
Types of Trips
There are three types of trip reservations:
- A Reserved Trip is where travel arrangements are made in advance by calling the YKFlex scheduling number, within the prescribed booking period. Once made, this reservation is guaranteed, subject to normal service delivery guidelines (for example, suspension of service due to inclement weather).
- A Subscription Trip is needed on a regular basis (same days of the week and same time of day). Only one call is needed to create a subscription reservation that will continue until you request a change. You may make a change to this type of reservation once every three months. If you need frequent changes, your needs will not be met by the subscription service.
- An On-demand Trip is where the trip request is made the same day. These trips cannot always be met. It is best to book in advance. YKFlex will attempt to meet demand trip requests based on available schedule time and trip cancellations.
On Time Performance
To have flexibility and provide trips for as many passengers as possible, YKFlex vehicles may be scheduled to arrive up to 15 minutes before or 15 minutes after the scheduled pick-up time. YKFlex asks customers to please be ready 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time.
Note: No vehicle will be authorized to leave the pick-up point before waiting a minimum of five minutes after arrival.
Attendants
- One attendant may accompany a rider free of charge, when the rider’s eligibility and registration require an attendant
- The attendant must be picked up and dropped off at the same location as the rider
- To be eligible for attended transportation, riders must include this information in the initial YKFlex application
- Riders must inform YKFlex staff of attendant transportation at the time of booking
- Attendants cannot be registered YKFlex users
Note: If a rider's registration information shows the requirement for an attendant, the rider will not be allowed to travel without the attendant.
Guests
- Guests can only be immediate family members or one other person
- Guests pay the regular fare
- Guests must be picked up and dropped off at the same location as the rider
- Staff must be informed of guests' travel at the time of booking
- Alternate travel times may be needed to allow guests to travel with the rider, depending on availability
Mobility Aids
- Canes, walkers, and other portable mobility aids are always accepted
- Wheelchairs should be in good working order with functional brakes
- Lap belts are recommended for all wheelchair users
- The combined weight of the passenger and mobility aid cannot exceed 275 kilograms (600 pounds) due to the lift machine's capacity
- If you have questions regarding any mobility device on a YKFlex vehicle, you must call YKFlex before booking a ride
Service Animals
- Riders who have a service animal must include this information on their application
- Service animals can be brought on board free of charge
Late Cancellations
Trips cancelled after 3:00 p.m. the day before the scheduled trip will be classified as a late cancellation. YKFlex may impose sanctions for consistent late cancellations.
No-Shows
Trips cancelled within two hours of the scheduled pick-up time, or cancelled at the door, will be classified as no-show. YKFlex may impose sanctions for consistent no-shows.
