Beware of Scams

To identify Immigration scams in Canada, look for the following signs:

  1. Request for Payment: Forms and guides are free on the official Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website
  2. Big Promises: Be cautious of websites promising special deals, guaranteed entry, high-paying jobs, or expedited application processing
  3. Language and URL inconsistencies: Legitimate Canadian government websites are bilingual (French and English) and use the Canada .ca domain or end with .gc.ca
  4. Security Check: Ensure the site has https:// and a padlock icon in the browser address bar. Some browsers like chrome may hide these, but will instead warn you if the website does not use https

By being vigilant and following these guidelines, you can protect yourself from immigration scams and ensure a safer journey to your new home.
