Residential/Household organic yard waste is accepted at the Solid Waste Facility during the Residential Public Hours of Operation. The small Residential Fee for disposal is waived for disposal of yard waste.
Commercial organic yard waste is accepted during the Commercial Contractor Hours of Operation and the Commercial Fee is applied for disposal of organic yard waste.
Proper disposal of organic yard waste can be ensured by bringing it to the Solid Waste Facility in brown paper bags and dropping it off to the appropriate designated areas as directed by the gatehouse staff at the Solid Waste Facility. Please note that yard waste arriving in plastic bags will not be accepted for free, as these are non-compostable products.
Organic Yard Waste materials include, but are not limited to:
- Leaves
- Grass clippings
- Small twigs
- Willow branches and small brush
Residential/household organic yard waste can also be placed into residential green compost carts in small amounts. To see additional information on what can go into the compost carts, please visit Centralized Composting Program.
