YKFlex Buses
As of December 6, 2024, the new YKFlex vehicles will replace the previous Yellowknife Accessible Transit System (YATS), and maintain the same specialized transit service YATS offered but with increased comfort and safety. YKFlex will continue to provide door-to-accessible door service for registered users who are unable to board, ride, or disembark the fixed route transit system with safety and dignity due to a temporary or permanent physical or functional disability.
YKFlex bus features include:
- Robust rear side door lift;
- All-wheel drive transmission;
- Improved suspension;
- GPS tracking enabled;
- Same fare boxes as conventional buses.

Residents can access YKFlex by filling out this online application form. Details related to eligibility, where to pick up a form (for those with no access to a printer) and required information can be found on our website.
