As for hot drinks, I offer: a variety of herbal and fruit teas, regular drip coffee, Turkish coffee, flavoured coffees and hot chocolate. My prices are very affordable, and I offer meal combination specials to accommodate big and small appetites.

I run my canteen in the most environmentally friendly and energy-efficient way. More specifically, I am very conscientious about how much power I use. • Multiplex Concession – Running Bear Café 2024-2026

Running Bear Café is operated by Phuong.

I am a first-generation Canadian. I emigrated from Vietnam to Yellowknife in 1986 and have lived here since. I have made Yellowknife my home, and I want to share my passion for cooking with our community. I have had this passion since I was a teenager. As a girl in Vietnam, I had to help my family earn money. I learned to cook and clean. I learned to cook mostly from my mother and older sister. And once I was able to establish some good recipes, I would sell my food on the side of the streets in Vietnam. In order to provide financial stability for my parents and siblings and have a better life, I knew I had to leave Vietnam. I understand the concept of financial responsibility, and I bring a wealth of cooking experience. I truly believe that a benefit to me, my family and the members of our community would be that I can share my passion for cooking and bring out flavours that aren’t normally used in western dishes. I also adapt recipes from different Asian countries. I want to be able to share that with our community.

Phuong can be reached at @email and will be operating at the Multiplex until the end of 2026.

  • Community Arena Concession

Kaitlyn WhiteKeyes operates the arena concession from October to May annually.

Chef WhiteKeyes is an award-winning Indigenous tradeswoman and culinary arts diploma graduate from NAIT. She has successfully operated in the local food market through pop-up events, Yellowknife farmers markets and the Yellowknife culinary festival.

The arena community will benefit by having access to affordable food options and healthy daily specials.

Kaitlyn can be reached at @email and will be operating at the arena until May 2026.
