Yellowknife, let’s get active for the chance to win!
The City of Yellowknife invites residents to get active in ParticipACTION’s Community Challenge, presented by Novo Nordisk, help the City win up to $100,000 to use for community recreation initiatives!
The challenge runs from June 1 - 30, 2024, and is open to all residents and visitors. The City encourages Yellowknifers to engage in the following challenges:
Pup Walk – June 1 to 7, 2024: Yellowknife residents and visitors are encouraged to hike the 1.9 kilometer loop trail at Tin Can Hill for better physical health. Find the four paws along the trail, solve the secret word puzzle, submit it on the City’s website, and be entered for the chance to win a pet prize pack!
Walk & Talk – June 8 to 15, 2024: Yellowknife residents and visitors are encouraged to walk and converse with friends, family, and/or coworkers. Why not come down to Somba K’e Park for a tranquil lunch hour stroll! Monday, June 10 and Friday, June 14, will feature music at Somba K’e Park at 12 p.m.
Play Together – June 16 to 22, 2024: Promoting physical health in Yellowknife schools - schools can reserve the City of Yellowknife’s Tug of War Rope for a fun and challenging competition involving both students and faculty.
Living in Yellowknife – June 23 to 30, 2024: Promoting physical health throughout Yellowknife - residents and visitors are encouraged to hike, climb, paddle, and cycle in our beautiful city. Submit your activity hours on the City’s website for a chance to win an outdoor prize pack!
