The Northwest Territories recognizes nine official Aboriginal languages, as well as English and French through its Official Languages Act. The following are the Official Languages of the Northwest Territories:

- Cree
- English
- French
- Gwich’in
- Inuinnaqtun
- Inuktitut
- Inuvialuktun
- North Slavey
- South Slavey
- Tlicho
