Back to SearchThe Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) received a call for service to kilometer marker 324 on Highway 3 on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 12:40 a.m., reporting a fire in a generator shed that spread to the forested area.
Crews arrived on scene to find the fire had spread to the trees, spanning approximately 280 m2. The wind driven fire was quickly actioned and extinguished by the YKFD. Firefighters deployed a hose line and extinguished the fire that had spread to the nearby vegetation. Firefighters then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
The incident has been turned over to the Office of the Fire Marshal for further investigation.
