Vehicle Fire on Morrison Drive

On Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:37 a.m. the Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) received a call for service to a vehicle fire in a detached garage at 48 Morrison Drive.

The Yellowknife Fire Division responded with one fire truck, one water tanker, one ambulance and six firefighters to the incident; and were able to successfully put out the fire.

The Municipal Enforcement Division were on scene to assist with traffic control. Traffic and transit routes were temporarily disrupted, but have since returned to normal.

The Yellowknife Fire Division would like to thank the quick actions of WB Water Services, who were in close proximity at the time of the incident. Staff used their extinguisher on the flames, which allowed YKFD to quickly and effectively extinguish the fire upon arrival and prevent further damage.

There are no reports of injuries or additional property damage at this time. The Office of the Fire Marshal has been contacted.
