The City of Yellowknife (the City) is ramping up preparations for the opening of the Aquatic Centre.  To this end, the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool (RIMP) will be closed to the public as of Monday, April 14, 2025, to enable staff training in the new facility. Please be advised that all aquatic programming will be temporarily paused as of April 14, until further notice.

During this period, residents may notice increased activity at the Aquatic Centre as preparations continue for both staff training and ongoing building operations. The City is excited for the Aquatic Centre to open its doors to the public and is dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition as we enhance our community’s aquatic offerings. The City is working with all clubs and user groups to ensure their season-end competitions will not be disrupted.

As we are near the completion of staff training, additional details regarding the grand opening of the new Aquatic Centre will be shared. Additionally, spring and summer registration for aquatic programs will be announced in advance of the opening to ensure residents are informed and prepared.

The City appreciates the community’s patience as we work towards providing an exceptional aquatic experience for all.
