The City of Yellowknife’s Annual Garden Competition is back by popular demand!

This year’s competition will take place from Monday, August 12, 2024, to Monday, September 9, 2024. Recognize the hard work that Yellowknifers put into their properties by nominating your favourite garden. The list of categories can be found below, as well as on the City’s website. Following nominations, residents can vote on which garden they feel deserves the title!

Nominations will be accepted online until Friday, August 23, 2024 in the following categories:

  • Tiny Garden;
  • Bee Friendly;
  • Vegetable Garden;
  • Flower Garden;
  • Container Garden;
  • Rock Garden;
  • Front Yard/Curb Appeal.

Photos of the nominated gardens will be uploaded to the City’s Facebook page and residents will be invited to vote for the winner by liking the photo of their favourite garden. Residents can place their vote from August 26, 2024 to September 9, 2024.
