It has come to our attention that individuals may receive calls from someone claiming to represent the Canadian National Fire Association, requesting donations for firefighter aid on behalf of the City of Yellowknife.
Please be advised that the City of Yellowknife does not solicit donations from the public, and any such requests are fraudulent. We urge residents to remain cautious if they receive unsolicited calls requesting donations, and to refrain from providing any personal or financial information over the phone.
If you have received a suspicious phone call and wish to report it, please contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1 (888) 495-8501 (toll-free), or visit their Online Reporting System.
Residents are reminded to stay alert and report any such fraudulent activity to protect themselves and others in the community.
