In celebration of the Yellowknives Dene First Nation (YKDFN) Spring Carnival, the City of Yellowknife is pleased to announce that a half-day civic holiday has been declared for Friday, April 4, 2025.
By-law No. 5103, which received Third Reading at the March 10, 2025, City Council meeting, was passed to provide residents with the opportunity to participate in the festivities of the YKDFN Spring Carnival. The half-day holiday, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time), encourages the community to come together and celebrate this important cultural event.
In observance of the civic holiday, the following City facilities will operate according to the hours outlined below:
- City Hall: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Solid Waste Facility: Regular Hours
- Fieldhouse: Regular Hours
- Multiplex: Regular Hours
- Ruth Inch Memorial Pool: Regular Hours
- Yellowknife Public Library: Regular Hours
- YK Arena: Regular Hours
- Visitor Information Centre: Regular Hours
- Municipal Enforcement Division Office: 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Emergency Services: Regular Hours
