City of Yellowknife Holiday municipal service schedule is as follows:

CITY HALL will close at 12:00 noon on December 24, 2024 & at 3:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 and will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2024 and on January 1, 2025.

SOLID WASTE FACILITY will be closed on December 25 and 26, 2024 and January 1, 2025. Holiday hours of operation for the Solid Waste Facility can be found here.

CHRISTMAS TREES will be accepted at the Solid Waste Facility free of charge during the month of January.

WATER DELIVERY that would normally take place on Christmas and on New Year’s day will instead take place on December 24 and 31, 2024.

SEWAGE PUMPOUT that would normally take place on Christmas and on New Year’s day will instead take place on December 26, 2024 and January 2, 2025.

GARBAGE Black Cart Collection that would normally take place on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day will instead take place on December 26, 2024 and January 2, 2025.

COMPOST PICK UP Green Cart Collection (organics) that would normally take place on Christmas Day and on New Year’s Day will instead take place on December 26, 2024 and January 2, 2025.

FREE DOWNTOWN PARKING is from December 23, 2024 to January 2, 2025. The City will not be enforcing parking meters during this period. People working in the downtown and parking for extended periods of time are asked to not park adjacent to storefronts in an effort to provide easier access to these stores throughout the day. All other parking regulations will be enforced - such as fire lanes, handicap stalls, and loading zones. This includes parking restrictions on Franklin Avenue from 3:00 - 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PUBLIC TRANSIT SCHEDULE – There will be no Transit service including YKFlex on December 25, 2024; December 26, 2024 and January 1, 2025 due to Statutory Holidays. The Holiday Transit Schedule can be found here.

YELLOWKNIFE PUBLIC LIBRARY will close at 12:00 noon on December 24, 2024; will be closed on December 25 & 26, 2024; will close at 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 and will be closed on January 1, 2025. Holiday hours of operation for library can be found here.

RUTH INCH MEMORIAL POOL will close on December 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.; will be closed on December 25; and will close on December 31 at 3:00 p.m. Holiday hours of operation for pool can be found here.

MULTIPLEX ARENA will close on December 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.; will be closed on December 25; and will close on December 31 at 3:00 p.m. Holiday hours of operation for Multiplex can be found here. For arena programming happening throughout the holidays click here.

FIELDHOUSE will close on December 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m.; will be closed on December 25; and will close on December 31 at 3:00 p.m. Holiday hours of operation for the Fieldhouse can be found here.

YELLOWKNIFE COMMUNITY ARENA will be closed from December 23, 2024 to January 1, 2025. Holiday hours of operation for the Yellowknife Community Arena can be found here.

VISITORS' CENTRE will have reduced hours on December 24 and December 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will be closed on December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025. Holiday hours of operation for the Visitors' Centre can be found here.
