2023 Santa Claus Parade Winners

This past Saturday, community members got into the holiday spirit as they gathered on the streets of Yellowknife to watch the Santa Claus Parade. Every year, the participating organizations that spread the most cheer win a prize. This year’s theme was “Yellowknife Strong” and with 23 fantastic floats, the judges had their work cut out for them. After some deliberation, the City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Santa Claus Parade:

• 1^st Place: The Scouts
• 2^nd Place (tie): YKDFN/Flash Pilot Car & Hot Shot Services Ltd.
• 3^rd Place: Great Slave Helicopters

The Scouts will also receive the not-for-profit annual Roland Gosselin Ho Ho Ho Award, a $500 prize made possible by a generous donation from Roland’s family. This award honours Roland Gosselin, a longtime resident who is fondly remembered for playing the role of Santa Claus in many past holiday events. 

The City is thrilled that so many Yellowknifers came out to enjoy this year’s Santa Claus parade. We thank all participants, attendees and volunteers for the hard work that went into making the parade come to life.
