The City of Yellowknife is excited to announce the official Grand Opening of the Yellowknife Aquatic Centre on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Following a successful soft opening in May, the facility has already welcomed thousands of users and received overwhelmingly positive feedback on its award-winning accessible amenities, improved program availability, and enhanced staff-to-user service ratios.
The Grand Opening celebration, titled the Big Splash Bash, marks the full operational launch of this state-of-the-art community facility. Residents and visitors of all ages are invited to join us in this free of charge, ultimate pool party fun!

Spots for a free swim session are limited, and pre-registration is required for all attendees, regardless of age. Registered swimmers are reminded to arrive swim-ready to maximize their experience.
