At approximately 10:45 p.m. on April 15, 2024, the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) responded to a call on Cameron Road for a report of a fire.
Upon arrival, crews saw flames and smoke outside coming from the yard area, as a result of stored materials catching fire. YKFD extinguished the fire and was on the scene until approximately 1:45 a.m. The Municipal Enforcement Division diverted traffic on the scene.
No injuries were reported. There are no health concerns because of the smoke in the area, as this was a minor fire and it was extinguished in a timely manner.
The incident is under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
