37th Annual Bike Rodeo

Friday, May 23, 2025
This sculpture, created in 2009 by Yellowknife artist Francois Thibault depicts three drum dancers. It is located at the edge of Frame Lake in front of Yellowknife's City Hall.
The City of Yellowknife’s Municipal Enforcement Division (MED) invites all school-aged children from kindergarten to grade six and their parents to join the 37th Annual Bike Rodeo on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the Yellowknife Multiplex. Children will also receive gift bags and have the chance to win prizes, thanks to generous support from local sponsors.

This fun-filled, free community event is designed to promote bike safety, raise awareness about local bicycle bylaws, and strengthen community engagement through interactive and educational activities:
  • A bike obstacle course to test skills and build confidence
  • A bike tune-up station for quick maintenance checks
  • Helmet fittings to ensure safe riding
  • Face painting, balloon animals, and other family-friendly fun
  • A BBQ to keep everyone energized

“The Bike Rodeo is more than just a fun afternoon. It’s about teaching our youth the rules of the road, building trust with local enforcement, and creating a safer, more connected community.”
— Sgt. Brennen Osburn, Manager, Municipal Enforcement Division

Don't forget to bring your own bikes and helmets! Come ride, learn, and connect with your neighbours while helping make Yellowknife a safer place for everyone on two wheels.
