Amnesty Day

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce that the Solid Waste Facility will host an Amnesty Day on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.

During Amnesty Day, residents can dispose of regular residential waste free of charge, as the $16.50 tipping fee will be waived. Note that tipping fees for special residential waste will still apply. Visit our website for more details on which items qualify as special waste.

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to release an updated Community Emergency Plan and Evacuation Plan.

City and PSAC Collective Agreement Ratified

The City of Yellowknife (the City) is pleased to announce that the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Local X0345 and City Council have ratified a new Collective Agreement. This agreement will take effect on Monday, September 16, 2024, and will remain in effect until December 31, 2027.
