Remembrance Day Road Closures

The City of Yellowknife would like to advise residents that on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., several streets in the downtown core will be closed for the Annual Remembrance Day Parade. During this time, there will be no parking along the parade route. Please see the map below for the details related to the road closures.

Signage will be placed 24 hours in advance to inform residents that vehicles must be moved before the road closures to avoid being towed.

City Landlines Down

The City of Yellowknife (the City) would like to advise residents that City phones are not working as a result of a network issue that is impacting local and long distance service. As such, currently residents will not be able to access 9-1-1 or reach the City by phone. As an alternative to calling 9-1-1, residents are asked to report an emergency in-person at City Hall, the Fire Hall, or the RCMP office. Shop Local this Holiday Season

The City of Yellowknife (the City) and the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce are excited to launch the annual Shop Local campaign from October 30 to November 26, 2023. $10,000 worth of prizes are up for grabs, which includes $5,000 from the Chamber’s Business Relief Fund and $5,000 from the City.
