Structure Fire at Sunridge Place Apartments

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, the City of Yellowknife Fire Division (YKFD) responded to a structure fire at Sunridge Place Apartments, located at 5603 51A Ave. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke coming from a first-floor apartment of the three-story complex. 20th Memorial Tribute to Fallen Firefighters

On March 17, 2025, the Yellowknife Fire Department (YKFD) will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the tragic deaths of Lieutenant Cyril Fyfe and Firefighter Kevin Olson. A memorial ceremony will be held to honor their sacrifice while responding to a structure fire at the Old Airport Road on March 17, 2005. Both Lt.
